Construction of 38 apartments in the former gaswork's area in Leopoldau
The former gaswork precinct of Leopoldau becomes a new residential area. A part of the old structures of this once industrial area have been preserved and will be refurbished. 8 new residential houses will be built in close contact with these structures and the old tree alleys. The parterre becomes a large community area with free access for all residents. The meeting rooms, workshops, laundry, kindergarten and media room float in between inner and outer spaces and offer a great platform for the social interactions. This is enhanced by the generous outdoor areas which smoothly fade off into the forest and a meadow on the west.
The apartments vary from 2 room to 5 room apartments. About 25% are adaptable SMART apartments.
